About Us

Welcome to the official website of the Yale Undergraduate Sports Analytics Group! We are undergraduates passionate about the field of sports analytics. Members discuss the current state of advanced statistics in a variety of sports and attempt to contribute to the field through original research.

The Yale Undergraduate Sports Analytics Group (YUSAG) was founded in 2015 by Evan Green ‘17 and Michael Menz ‘17. At its inception, YUSAG was comprised of a mere five members. Since then, we have double in size, and have greatly increased the quantity of projects we produce. In Fall 2016, we began a collaboration with the Yale Daily News, with a weekly sports column entitled “BY THE NUMBERS.” You can read all of our work by clicking the “Projects” tab, and can follow us on Twitter @YaleSportsGroup.

Any inquiries can be directed to YUSAG President, Daniel Tokarz ‘20 (daniel.tokarz@yale.edu)

NOTE: We do work for the Yale Men’s Basketball team, which we are unable to publish for obvious reasons. While we root for Yale athletics to achieve great success, the work we do is unbiased by our Bulldog pride. All modeling, analysis, and predictions are objective.
